Kids CD protections and the SONY DRU500A.

Hello, everyone,

I currently looking into a DVD writer and the DRU500A came to mind, but i have a slightly silly question to ask. is that aiight with your guys?

Here goes, I know sony is like REALLY big on the protection intellectual property and stuff. Does anyone have the burner and could tell me whether it copys PS2, PSX, and other protected CDs (safedisc v2.8 for the PC)?

if so please be kind enough to tell me which software is available for the DVD writer to achieve the job.

P.S- i know it sounds like i'm the kind to borrow and copy games and stuff but it's the opposite. I actually have a lot of orginal, store bought games i wish to backup since i absolutely HATE it when i scratch up the originals. I keep all my originals in individual cases in a shelf.

PLZ, advise

type of DVD writer doesn't really matter. Just need some software that can copy the disk. I know for sure that you need a some type of mod chip(www.modchip.com) to play the backups. Mod chips for playstation 1 do work. I have seen a friend put one in and tested it.

For the PS2, still a mystery for me and haven't tried it yet. Cost a bit so haven't had the time or money. There are mod chips for it though. I heard NERO can make exact copies of cds/dvds.
