Kids speed-up Win2k start-up/shutting down?

I have win2k installed on my laptop last week.
Somehow it takes allot of time when starting-up windows. I guess this has to do with the networkconfiguration. I believe there was a tweak for this to disable DHCP search at start-up.
Anybody knows this one?

Also shutting down takes more time then it should do. It takes allot of time to "save personal settings" although there is no HDD activity. Does it tries to save settings to a server or kind? I don't need to logon or save to a network so is there a tweak for this too?

Thanks for any help.

DM

HI DM,

what service packs and updates do you have installed?
Do you have the MS Hotfix Q329170 installed? This might be the culprit as it was for me.

here is thread of my similar problem so not sure if same as yours but sounds like it to me.

Yes I have.

I deinstalled it rebooted twice and it WORKS!!!

Thanks, its shuts down in less then 10secs. It used to be like a minute or so.

I found the fix for starting-up, but unfortunately I'm using DHCP so disabling that isn't an option for me. Owhwell the shut down was more annoying. Thanks
