With having broadband and pay for leasing of a modem, naturally I don't have a choice in which modem I get. I recieved the RCA Modem and this modem is a vitural PITA!
For the most part it functions good
AFTER you are able to install the modem correctly. I have never had so much trouble with cable modems with installations as I do this one. Windows was carping on me, yes carping out,

and therefor had to reinstall it after it froze during re-installation 3 times, finally found the culprit of why that was doing that. Anyhow it wiped out my modem completely and after about 3 shots finally got the drivers in. these are the most non user friendly drivers I have ever seen.
Not sure if anyone ever has this problem as I do.
With my cable connection in another city for 3 years I had used the Com21 Cable modem, that was a very good modem and easy to install and had the same modem for 3 years till I moved.
