IBM removable hd in dell laptop help needed...

well, i posted something related to this problem, now the problem is that i deleted the partition on my c600 and when it tries to install xp pro, it formats the disk, BUT up to 40% and then it stalls there. I mean the screen just displays 40% forever. What do you guys think about this problem, would that IBM hd be just screwed up forever? or is there a fix. Please help me with anything you think that there is possible...
