need a new monitor!! advice please

so I've started getting my new computer together and I'm looking at my old monitor thinking its gotta go. I saw this deal at fry's the other day and the pic on the monitor looked goo and clean but I'm not sure if its a good deal or good monitor

http://shop3.outpost.com/product/3570054

any advice on monitors to stay away from or to look for. Not ready to spend the cash to get a flat panel just yet. I'm trying to keep this a budget deal and so far it hasn't worked

Is that an MIR on that monitor or just a rebate?

I recently purchased this monitor from Best Buy...awesome monitor. It has a great image and the price is not bad either.
The one you listed is a lower price after rebate and also has a longer warranty though.

ooohhh, if you would ever DARE to lower yourself to the meager 17" monitor, I've got a Samsung 763MB, and the picture is gorgeous.. Bright colors and a bunch of settings to play with.
Decent refresh rates too.

I agree with cunokyle and crouse. I saw that MAG in black in Best Buy the other day and it looked GOOD. Really deep monitor so make sure you have a big desk to put it on.

The MAG at Best Buy is better than the Outpost one for $20 cheaper and Outpost SUCKS and you can get the MAG at Best Buy without having to pay for shipping.
