Very carefully.

Just use plain water. No soapy stuff and don't press the screen.

happened to me at work - a very friendly & helpful colleague thought that it would be nice for me to return to a clean workspace - I worked for 4 years with the etched in swirls

just got upgraded from the leaness of NT4.0 to full fat XP - at least we can play with the page file and switch off the effects

To clean the LCD what I do at home is use one of those cloths that come with (sun)glasses - no liquids or detergents

Seriously, a soft tissue damp with water is best. Use bathroom tissue not kitchen tissue. And be gentle.

DO NOT PRESS.

Be careful.

OK?

There are wipes available at some computer stores for cleaning LCDs. They contain water with a small amount of IPA and a very small amount of detergent. Similar to windshield-washing fluid, but more dilute.
