Metal plate on AMD K6-2

I am wondering if that darn plate can be removed without destroying the chip? I know it's been done before, but I don't remember the who, the where, etc. I figure if I can get rid of the plate I can most likely get the temp down some more. Besides that, the plate is not exactly flat. I am not sure what happened, but its a little wavy. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Jer

Alright, this thing is so much better now. It was running a constant 51C before, oc'ed to 425. Now, its running at 450mHz, at only 30C with the plate gone. This is sweet.

Do you overclock? I've still got my plate on, I'm not much of an overclocker. I've got a 450mhz K6-2.

Ohh, yeah, I am hooked on overclocking. This is a 400 K6-2, errrrr, was.
