Here:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\NetTrans\0000]
"MaxMTU"="544"

Note your box's active Nettrans device number might be different than mine (0000). The active one is referenced here:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\Network\MSTCP\0000]
"Driver"="NetTrans\\0000"

My settings don't include a RWIN or MaxRWIN setting, but I don't think it's necessary w/MaxMTU specified. Note: my MaxMTU settings above are particular to my machine.

Sorry, I wasn't completely accurate here. The RWIN (receive window) value is set in this key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\MSTCP]
"DefaultRcvWindow"="4032"

At least w/my modem/TCPIP setup, this value is a multiple of (MaxMTU - 40). In my case, (544-40) * 8. What your settings should be is dependent on your type of connection, ISP, hardware, etc. If there is no key set as above, Windoze provides a default value.

Doesn't XP automatically put in the optimized settings?
