CS = disconnect

I can finally play CS now that I have a new rig. It would lag for minutes on end with my old one. The problem is that whenever I play CS, I get disconnected from the internet. CS gives crashes back to the server screen and says something about a packet, but it's probably not getting a packet because it's disconnected. Sometimes I can play for hours, other times just seconds.

Any suggestions

was it a NET_Sendpacket ERROR or Flushentity Packet ?

it could be a server issue or your ISP issue. sometimes your computer errors out or a connection lose or mishappen

not very uncommon with dialups

It's a windows Box that pops up, not an orange and grey HL box. Shouldn't be an ISP issue because I have 3 friends that use same ISP and both play CS fine, with XP. It doesn't happen with any other game. I mean I can stay online while I play a game. I don't have any other online games besides HL. Just seems wierd tha EVERY single time I connect, every single server I join, and totally random time, I get disconnected. Only while playing HL.

I an running the game from my game partition, and I have a TON of services and whatnot dissabled. I thought one of them might be the culprit so I installed the game on my Windows partition, and the same thing happened after playing for 12 min 34 sec.

could be your drivers on your network card/modem... also could be your physical line... there are many different things that could have gone wrong... does it disconnect when idle?

it would be best if you could take a screen shot of the error

when it pops up press print screen and then go into paint and paste. save it as a .gif


or get the exact error. until then we really can't help you

I will get a scrennshot. N disconnects when idle, no disconnects when downloading, no disconnects while playing any other games.

could be that one of your cs/halflife files is corrupt, or missing... might wanna try installing it all again, getting good updates, etc

Here is the error. Laugh at it.

I went over to my friends house and installed HL and CS on his computer. We started up a game, and after 15 min of playing, he got the SAME ERROR AS ME! After that he played for about 40 min without any problems, so maybe it was just coincidence. I'll call him and ask if it happened again. Do you think a new modem would stop it? I can get a 56k for $15.

Hmm, that would account for my friend and I having the same problem. I have a 56k so downloading both the hl update and cd 1.5 full is a while to wait. I downloaded them both from school using the t3 line. I also d/l DOD and it says it corrupt at 45% installation. So maybe CS is corrupt. You know what, im going to play another mod and see if it still happens.
