this doesn't exactly pertain to this thread but here it goes...
first of all i have an iwill kk266-raid.
i have winows xp installed in raid 0. i wanted to install mandrake 8.1, so what i did was install an 8gig hd on ide 0 (LINUX)and a 17gig installer drive (ntfs) on ide 2. ide 1 and 3 are my cdrom and cd writer.
when i installed or boot into linux, i went in the bios and made the ide 0 the first disk to boot. when i want to boot to windows xp, i go back to the bios and make raid 100 my first disk to boot into. it only take a few sseconds so i don't mind it.
so now i don't have to worry about lilo and grub in the raid partition anymore. no more worrying about the mbr everytime (the 100th time) i install linux

.
if you want to browse an ntfs partion in win98/me, download this old shareware called ntfs for 98. i think that's what it's called. it loads a driver at 98 boot up so you can browse an nt file system. the full version lets you edit the files and folder in the ntfs partion.
