Gaming OK..I can't wait for the new crap !!

After being an AVID NVidia freak totally dedicated to purchasing the latest and greatest NVidia product everytime it came out, I've changed my ways. (and I don't think this needs an explanation)

Question is, which current 9700 should I purchase ???
I don't need the "All in Wonder" So just skip that one.
Is the 9700 Gold addition good ? ($250's)
Do I stick with the Pro ??($300-$350)
And are there any other versions I should consider ?

No, I can't wait for the "Next Gen's" to come out !!
I have a new system alllllll built and am waiting on the Video card to complete it and boot the damn thing up !!

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Whatever you do, try to stay away from the "powered by ATI" cards and go with one that's built by ATI as well...

Work Ahhhh ... I see

So cards by " Sapphire Tech" and "Power Color" are no no's ?

I guess this explains why they are so much cheaper ??

hmmmm ....

I wouldn't say that all the powered by ati versions are a bad choice, some of them are actually better in the cooling department than the actual ati version. Tom's hardware did a review of some of the powered by versions back in Nov. that can be found here: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20021104/index.html

Sapphire cards are usually good, they are the main partner with Ati, although I'm don't know what kind of warrenty you get with some of the "other" cards...3 years for a retail ati version.

Just my two pennies.

"Powered by" can be okay - but be wary. I agree with smurffart - Sapphires are good. Trust Tom's reviews....follow that link up - it'll tell you the truth. Honestly I have been disenchanted with ATI's coolers - the third party guys seem to have that down. I would actually recommend a third party for the ATI 9700 - some can overclock like crazy - just do your research first
