Does anyone know if theres going to be a diablo 3, since diablo 1 & 2 sold so well, and were great games? maybe a diablo 3 would have much better graphics?

Well, look how long it took for Diablo II to come out after Diablo. And it still took ages even after DII was first announced. So I'd not expect Blizzard to make an announcement anytime soon. And when they do, expect the game up to 2 years after their speculated release date. I was bummed out by the announcement of that Starcraft Ghost game. They promised a big announcement and everyone was expecting Diablo III. I just hope D3 is careful about any new rare items that could inadvertantly turn into a form of currency, like the Stone of Jordan nightmare, where if you didn't have one you were screwed when trying to trade. And some variation would be cool. You can only go so far playing the same quests over and over with a character. There needs to be something more than just adding immunities to monsters and increasing the random unique monsters.

I doubt it, it's been 14 months since the last patch for D2: LOD. At this rate you should see D3...um, never! Blizzard is busy with WoW and WCIII...
007, I hear ya on the SOJ deal...sheesh I'm still sick of hearing "SOJ this and SOJ that..." |

Blizzard is a double-edged sword for me. I love the detail that goes into their games, but they have such a small staff that only one game at a time can be worked on. It's not like Square, who can have around 10 games being developed simultaneously. What sucks is there is a cycle of Warcraft --> Starcraft ---> Diablo and if you don't like all 3 series, then you're stuck waiting for your prefered game to get a sequel. Hopefully the cycle sticks and Diablo III is up next after Starcraft Ghost. Then again, we might get screwed with World of Warcraft. Blizzard likes to "recycle their servers". Like how Diablo II used to have a ton of servers, now you have to wait in line to create a game. Probably half of those Diablo servers were recycled to host Warcraft III games.
Ever notice that Blizzard games are usually $10 over the average retail PC game price? That extra $10 is to fill up Blizzard's wallet to keep Battlenet free. Hell, $10 is a lot better than a monthly subscription.

Who knows, maybe they'll go for Starcraft 2.. I think they're under heavier pressure for SC2 than they are for diablo III
Everybody and their brother and sister are waiting for SC2
(my machine probably won't run it anyways )

WOW and WarcraftIII are their main concerns, but I am sure later down the road that Diablo3 is on the drawing board..
We'll see in a couple of years. |

I'm getting too old for hardcore gaming. They're gonna lose their core audience because us Diablo II fans will be pushing up daisies by the time D3 gets out. And I hope Starcraft gets put on the bottom of the to-do list after Ghost comes out. Sorry for SC fans, but I never got into that series. It just seemed to me like Warcraft dressed up in a sci-fi theme. And all Blizzard can really do is leech ideas from Age of Mythology and C&C Generals (the new players on the block). It would almost be a waste of development time to just create a clone of AoM or C&C:G. They should focus on Diablo, the only decent action RPG. They've got a stranglehold on that genre and any game that has its content sold on EBay is a sure success. Diablo 3 should be a priority. It would be like having a money tree in your back yard and forgetting to water it enough.

Why does blizzard mess with Warcraft. Personaly i think it well just really sucks. And Ghost consel only! I think blizzard is looking to get rid of a lot of hardcore sc and d2 players. But thats just me.
