CD RW drive repair?

I'll go along with that, sam...

I use a Compaq at work, and glad that I don't have to upgrade it myself, cos our IT staff are constantly having MAJOR headaches with all the compatibility problems

Interesting. I had a yamaha 4x2x6 fail recently, maybe lube is all it needs.

but if it wasn't for that d@mn compaq i would not of appreaciated a good computer and i would not of known as much as i do about repairing or should i say my people skills with teck sercice
