extreme booting problem...

I just pulled an old Datel 133mhz computer out of storage and went to hook it up. When I pushed the power button...the fans started and the light on the floppy drive turned on...but nothing else...

I tried removing the RAM and resetting it, same thing, i don't even have power to the ROM...

Check the jumpers and reseat the CPU and all the plugs and connectors.
Do you have a "start up"disc to run diagnostics???? That would be my first try, to see if you can get into the system. I'm assuming it's loaded with Windows 95 ???

Windows 95 it is...but since there is no power...I can't get a disc in...unless your talking about a floppy disk...

Great...now when I plug the power cord into the back it just whines...and nothing happens with i hit the power button...PSU problem?

hmm.. u should try using a different psu.. ummm check the power switch connectors..

if that doesnt work.. u can try using a screwdriver or pliars.. to short start it...

Do you have a VOM ( volt and ohm meter )????? That would be the easiest way to check the PS and the control switches

Throw a new CMOS battery in it. Without it the board forgets it's a computer. Just had the same problem with an old PC-Chips.

Edit: The power supply will turn on but with a bad CMOS the board won't power up. At least that's what happened onmy PC-Chips
