FP Problem

Everytime that I try to save a web doc. in Front Page '02, I get a message wanting me to log in to save it. So it won't let me save it. It just started to do this last night. I have reinstalled Office, ran a repair on it, and even created new web pages with other programs. It still won't let me save my web docs in Front Page. Does anybody know how to get rid of this??? Thanx.

It sounds like FP is trying to post your page to a website. The username and passwd would be whatever you were given by your webhosting service, isp, etc. to post your page(s) onto their webserver.

I'm not that familiar with FP, but when I was using FP 2000 to build my brothers site, there was an option to save the files locally to my hard disk, instead of publishing it to the web. The My Webs folder was where FP stored the files locally. When you want to save your files to the website you could click on publish button, and enter the info (or it would already be there if you had entered the info before), or you could choose 'save as' in the drop down menus, and give it the web address where it was to be posted, login, and then it would upload the files for you OR you could choose to save locally.

Poke around and make sure you're not trying to save to a website (web address). It sounds like your wanting to save locally.

Past that, I'm not sure I can be of much help.

Good Luck,
Kaziah
