desktop icon wont go away

I am on a nt4.0 system, running pII. This is a workstation that's networked. Employees have come/gone that use this set. There is a file folder icon on desktop.
Reads Jenny's stuff. Nothing in it, but cant delete. Error msg reads cannot delete msmsgs: ms-dos name Jenny'^1. Double click, takes u to msn msgr.exe, shows c:\winnt\Profiles\Reception\desk top, created Aug,1999.
How can I make it go away?

Thanks, Hukilau

Does Jenny still use the computer? Its (I think) part of another persons profile.

If you have admin priviledges I think you can go into control panel, user accounts and delete her from the account list. when you return the icon should be gone, but if it isnt I think you will be able to delete it now.

I didnt see it before but the "msmmsg" is a file folder for outlook. If the above doent do it select outlook/outlook express and delete her from that user list.

She is no longer here, but she was not put on as a user. The workstation is just used for generic purposes. Anyone needed to set at that station, is strictly receptionist type. Only internet priviledges are on this station.
Thanks for the response Vern!

Send a message via AIM to jrock
Check to make sure there aren't any other user accounts, just in case. Can you rename the folder? Sounds like the folder has an invalid DOS name. Maybe that will help. Also - make sure you're logged in as an Administrator. Also - It's not linked to a network folder is it? Maybe try unplugging the ethernet cable and try is (yes - farfetched, but hey you never know)
