I'm an idiot....

I've got a neon light in my case, the cover on the convertor box is loose and falls off sometimes. Well, last night while my computer was on, I noticed the cover was off so I tried putting it back on and in doing so, touched the circuit board inside of the convertor box by accident. I shocked myself and my computer froze up.
Now it won't boot. It gets to the bios splash screen and freezes. Any ideas as to what could have happened?

Definitely and ID Ten T error. I'd say it's fried.

I would first ELIMINATE the neon light setup from the picture. See if that's not what is keeping your PC from booting.
If you eliminate that, then more than likely, your little engineering stunt fried a component of the PC. If you're lucky, it will just be the PSU.

Yea I disconnected the light. Still the same problem. How would I go about narrowing down what could be fried?

First I'd try taking the battery out for a half hour or so to reset the BIOS. Replace it and boot. Might be just a corrupt BIOS. I doubt it but it's worth a try.

Other than that find a buddy with a PC that will let you swap parts out until you find the culprit.

Alright, thanks for the quick responses. Hopefully I didn't do any major damage.

Try unplugging the PSU from the mobo, then plugging it back in.

Unplug the power cord from the wall while clearing the bios. First as a safety precaution and second the bios may not clear if it isn't unplugged. Good Luck

Try removing any cards not needed to boot, HD's everything, leave only Video,CPU and memory, Then try, still no, try removing memory sticks and try them in different combinations.

Anacrusis:

If you cannot find a single bad "hard" component when attempting a bare-bones-boot, a corrupted BIOS may be your problem. Hmm ... Trying to think how you could flash your BIOS without removing the ROM ... and if you had to would it be more costly than a new board?

Hmm. Tough how the potentially real interesting problems are so painful.

Good luck.
