how do i set up kmail to get hotmail?
how do i mount my D drive so that i can get my mp3s? my D drive is fat32.
is there a program scheduler? like so that i can use it as my alarm clock to play a playlist? ...more to come.

Your Windows partition is in the /mnt directory.

don't think kmail can do hotmail.. isn't it just outlook express that can do that?

KMail can't do Hotmail.

If your D drive isn't in /mnt, you need to add it to it. Edit /etc/fstab and add this:

/dev/hdx /mnt/windows vfat defaults 0 2

Replace X with the partition letter assignment.

Cron is a program scheduler. It's kinda hard to figure out though. Just use XMMS and get the xmms-alarm plugin. It'll start playing music at the time you tell it to.

ok, got the music files figured out myself, thank you for the help though. link to the plugin prae? so what do people do for hotmail? just use the webpage? new problem, no sound. xmms shows the EQ going wild, but no sound. audigy 2 platinum. it looked like it installed fine during install?

Are you in KDE? Open KMix and click on the green light above your volume slider. It's turned off by default...go figure.

Is the green light glowing? If not just click on it. Your slider can be full on, and still get no sound if the lamp is turned off (sound turned off).
