What is it and what does it do? I heard of it before.

Yep, it's an ad program. Comes with, umm.. some p2p software I recall. Kazaa?
Kazaa will refuse to work (if it isn't the lite version) once you remove that file.

if you have kazaalite, it comes with a dummy cydoor file that kazaalite needs, its not real cydoor though.. if you delete it from a program that needs it, like that, or real kazaa (real cydoor), they wont run anymore

I have never downloaded kazaa before. What else would it come for?
Only programs i have downloaded since i got my computer back is half life patch, counter strike patch, popup stoper update, the nvidia memory reader, mail washer
That's all, and i didn't have this spyware a few months ago when i last used my computer

mail washer or the popup stopper.. havnt heard of either, so its likely one of those.. after you deleted it, did anything stop working?

Cydoor can also come with applications like: download managers, downloadable computer buddies, some types of screen savers and other types of "freeware" that are really spyware.

A certain freeware website (S-something-bot) downloader also uses cydoor; uninstalling that downloader will not remove cydoor, though. Been there, suffered that.
