Annoying Pop Ups

My supervisor at work is having problems with pop ups, however he gets pop ups when he's just on his computer and not surfing the web. He said he uses internet explorer and has cable internet and is running windows xp home edition.

Is there anyway that he might be running internet explorer in the background without being aware of it? How else can he be getting these pop ups if hes isnt opening ie?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

pop ups are not uncommon on computers that are just sitting there

run that and you should have less problems with it.

also if your boss is running win2k/XP

disable messanger

SpywareInfo is a site that I will trust from now on, just because of this paragraph in the article that goldenbuddha linked to.

A glowing article like that is a red flag! After all, this program is "tip ware" thus if the dude need any money he sells space in his program for spyware....

"All" .... really
