you are correct in many circumstances here, it is better to go for a cable of a quality brand

If your willing to shell out some cash I have always heard good things about monster cables.
I'll probably just do that and use some copper wire I have and also cause I can't afford to spend $30 just for cable and I also have the RCA ends. Thanks for the help everyone.

You can't just use "...some copper wire...". It absolutely needs to be shielded.

Are you sure because the ones that come with game console and such don't seem to be shielded or did you mean insulated.

There is a lenght limit, depending on the type (RCA/composite or SVHS) you will be using. You are always better off using one length of cable if at all possible.
Making one cable out of several is going to result in signal loss.
The more connections, the more loss.
You can make your own RCA or SVHS cable, though the easiest is the RCA type.
Your best bet is to use standard rg-6 coax cable, put some RCA style ends on it and your set. As good as Monster Cable (it has it uses). Heres a link to some decent ends you can find at your local RS.

Toad is correct, however there are varying degrees of shielding.
The ones that come with your console are sheilded, just not real well.
RG6 would be your best bet, it's double sheiled with an 18 gauge center copper core.
You can also buy tri and quad shield but it's an overkill.
I would however reccomend using good quality ends.

Good quality ends so I guess the ones that come with consoles and such wouldn't cut it.

not sure but it would be kinda hard to reuse them. radar$hack has some gold plated ones that you can wire yourself.... but im sure thats not needed.
