I know several people that have one of these and they take excellent pics. Here's a review on it here

Fuji 2650 2mp, $149.98, 3x Optical Zoom
www.staples.com
search for item # 491769

Add some tape or whatever to break $200

Add coupon

$50 off $200
Code: 79183
Expires 12-25 @ 11:00 pm CST

Very small camera
Good Color & Resolution
Uses 2 AA's
XD Picture card saves battery life
Optical Zoom

All Digital cameras have very limited flash range, usually less than 9'
Shutter Lag on this model is not bad
Write times to disc are average to good
Has mpg feature, frame rate little slow

Very good for the price.

or
Kodak DC3400, to make this work with XP, get a $20~ CF Card Reader
If you want a camera to beat and bang with, here's a very good but older unit for sub $200 inc shipping.
Very sturdy, good quality lens, optical zoom.

This one is a bit larger than a "pocket" camera. You'll find this one in the industrial sector, along with it's older brother the DC280 which looks almost identical.

Check with www.stevesdigicams.com for reviews

I have a Canon A40 that I like very much, 2 megapixels, optical and digital zoom. Uses AA batteries which I like, no special ones. I use rechargeables but in a pinch I can get them anywhere. A link. Canon A40 I have been seeing them for about $249 or there abouts. I have been told, wrongly or rightly , that unless you do serious photography, desktop publishing or something, that anything much over 2 megapixels is unneeded. I take pics, print them out on 8.5x11 sheets and they are as clear as a bell. Of course your printer has to be a fairly good one too to get those results.
