Yes you could use 2002 into next year. 2003 is just the latest. How much is this going to cost?

How bout this for a combo. It's what I use.

Symantec Norton Antivirus 2002 $13.00 Full Version - 1 Full Year Live update. Link@ Newegg.com

ZoneAlarm 3.1.395 Firewall $(free download) Link@Cnet.com

Good combo Mike, I use Norton Antivirus 2003, I don't use a firewall since I have a Dlink router.. but I would use Zonealarm as well.

Really, what I think is that you should use NIS 2002 unless you want the newer one or prefer their shiny interface...

I'm using AVG and like it. It's also free.

I use NIS 2002 myself... if you configure it correctly it is really very secure. I get a score of 0 on dslreports.com security tests (meaning that no unused ports reply, and address is unpingable)

I'm sure NIS 2003 is as good or better, but I havent used it.

I FORGOT TO INCLUDE

I meant to mention this in my last post,

When you install NIS 2002/03 be prepared for a bombardment of
"security breaches" and such. It was unreal when I installed it on mine. I'm thinking, if I was actually getting attacked as much as NIS says I am, there is no way I wouldn't be absolutely overrun with viruses, backdoors and other such nuisances.

My take is that NIS fabricates these attacks for the first few hours so you will say "oh, geez, look at how useful this new program is, protecting me from all of these intrusions"

I've always wanted to write the IPs down that it says are attacking, do reverse DNS on them and see if they even exist...

Thought you might like to know-
