Keyboard cleaning ideas?

My keyboard when tilted sideways sounds like an African rain stick! Hehe, does anybody have an good ideas, on how to fix this with everyday items. I don't want to open it because I did that with an old one and the letter 'e' is now the letter 'w'.

Dude! Stop eating when you're surfing!

Flip it upside down and slap the back of it... Then shake it end to end and then filp it upside down again and slap it..

OR

Go to the garage and get the Industrial Shop Vac,, on second thought never mind... It might suck the key caps off.

Sure, wear ear plugs. Seriously, without opening it you won't solve a problem that involves loose items inside the case. $10 gets you a new one just about anyday of the week.

I use q-tips for dust, and a vacume to get the deep down dirt. I would have to suggest getting a plastic keyboard cover though. One of those ones that you can use the keyboard with it on. They really help and cost about $5-10.

Stick in the dishwasher for a few minutes, then let it air dry.

It sounded good, plus how much is a new kb anyway. Experiment!

I take masking tape, and put it over th sections of the keys to keep them in order, then pull it apart, and clean the sucker out.

Don't put it back in alphabetical order though

I read a long discussion about cleaning keyboards and several people put them in the dishwasher to wash them. They put them in upside down and ran them through a cycle. Just make sure to give it plenty of time to dry before using it.

I like the idea of not putting them back in alpha order. That would be way too much fun.

There's a thread around here about dishwashing kb's. I'll see if I can find it.
