If you've ever taken a keyboard apart, weren't you SHOCKED to find out how SIMPLE they are?? I was!
I have an old IBM keyboard, that weighs 10lbs, the thing actually has buttons under every keyI'll bet it was a really expensive unit new. I use it on my AT setup. Sounds like a stampede when ya type on it too, LOUD!

This new $10 jobber here, mainly plastic and rubber looks like

I have several of those old IBM's and I love them.
I use an AT to ATX adapter. The only keyboard I can get mad at and doesn't end up in the garbage can.

They were used when I received them (freebee's) and I just just spent a couple of hours pulling them apart and cleaning them.
As Knot said, there really isn't alot to them.

As far as the dishwasher, sounds risky IMO.

Well on the upside WB, it feels like your typing

I have a couple of keyboards that I would like to try the dishwasher on, not a lot to lose either way
I just don't have a dishwasher

And to think I am an appliance service technician and haven't got a dishwasher either.

I've got a nice 2000 psi power washer here.
I'm sure that would clean it up.
