Systems Plantronics switchbox

I recently purchased a Plantronics switch box for my mic/headset and speakers. I have a Dell system with Harmon-Kardon 3 speaker set, 2 desktop speakers and 1 base. Their box only has 1 plug for the speakers so I got a Y adaptor(1in/2out) as the H/K speakers have 2 wires to plug into the sound card. Now my sound has dropped off when going through the speakers. Any suggestions?

On my Yamaha speakers the right speaker has multiple outputs. One goes to the left speaker, and two are left available for sub woofers or more speakers. You can plug the sub woofer directly into one output from the right speaker (the "right" one on my setup is the one with a volume knob )

Can you do this with the HK's and dispense with the splitter? I think what you're trying to do is making the speakers run in series, which increases impedance (resistance) and will cut your volume by around half.

My 2 desktop speakers have to plug into the base speaker that then has a 2 plug wire that is supposed to plug into the sound card. There isn't a way to plug the 2 wires into the box as it only has a single plug. The company said to call Dell...lol Dell didn't have anything to do with these speakers...lol. Still not sure what to do
