TO OVERCLOCK OR NOT TO OVERCLOCK . . .

I have an AMD Athlon XP 1500+ (1.33Ghz). Should I try overclocking it? If so, how far can I go and still be stable? If anyone has ever done it, please let me know how it turned out.

No reason why not---may depend on your m/b, mem and ability to cool---unlocking your chip isnt as easy as it use to be but its simply doable (view a video how to here: http://www.thenakedreview.com/index....idreview&id=20 ) cpu database at www.overclockers.com shows a highpoint of approx 1800mhz---depends on how much you wanna mess with it...

I didnt have the nads to try to unlock my XP1700+, so I simply pushed the FSB from 133 to 143 and its running nicely at 1577.46 MHz [using an ABit KT7A mobo]. Runs nice and cool with a Volcano 7 HSF.
