Ghost will not by default.

Using the -IR (Image Raw switch) tells Ghost to restore the boot track information as is without attempting to repair minor boot track problems. That is, Ghost creates an image file that is an exact copy of the source disk, including extraneous or erroneous information. This is useful for forensic purposes.

LLF can map out the bad sectors if there is sufficient extra space on the drive. Normally there is. But if you have like 200MB bad sectors on a 80GB, forget it.

Even if there is a physical defect in the sectors, LLF will map it out so you don't see it. Sometimes even if there's no "buffer" space, it still maps it out and you get a small reduction in overall capacity. Not on Track 0 or 1 though.

Go download from Samsung site. I think even if you have a maxtor slaved to the samsung it'll work. But better to use the manufacturer's utility.
