Anyone playing Medieval:Total War?

Me and a few friends of mine decided we are going to start playing Medieval:Total War and I was wondering if anyone is currently playing it and what you think of it. It allows play online for between 2-8 players which is great since we have 5 of us who intend to play. The screenshots of some of the battles look really cool and I can't wait to play. Feel free to post some feedback for me

I got the tutorial demo and loved it, the battle of Jaffa was awsome. I have Shogun and when the funds allow will be getting Medieval asap.

Why are there so many good games to buy!

I play it, its pretty fun. But its too slow for me, so I have to speed it up to enjoy it. I like the sieges =)

I have never played Medieval Total war, but I have played Shogan total war. Are they the same?

Super Gerbil medieval is the sequel to shogun. Shogun was obviously set in Japan whereas medieval is set in europe between 1086 and 1450's. So that will take you through 3 crusades and numerous religous wars throughout europe mostly involving britain and france.

Yeah looks like a great game talked to a few freinds at work who played Shogun:Total War so I am really looking forward to playing Medieval in fact I am probably gonna buy my copy tonight or tommorow so I will let you know what I think in the next few days

okay thanks. I thought that there is a sequel to shogan, but I thought it would still be in Japan.

I beat the battle of Jaffa! It took like ten tries, but I did it! Here's an idea that worked for me, if anyone's interested. In the beginning, right away as soon as you can, move all your ranged units like archers and sailors right up to the gate, and pack them in tight. Then, take all your spearmen, and form walls around them, using the castle as the rear wall. That way you form kind of a half hexagon of spearmen and such, with a big bundle o' death from above inside all wrapped up pretty! Then use your ranged units to hammer anyone who gets close non-stop. Even this close formation didn't work a few times. What really made me win was capturing the enemy sultan. This lowered enemy morale, so I charged at their units with everything I had as some were indecisive or fleeing. They could have crushed me, but with their low morale, and my charging forces, they kept right on runnin' !
