I have the yamaha and the liteon and it only works with the yamaha for labeling the data side of a cd. The cd labelling for any other types of users will just make stickers.

I'm pretty sure you can burn a disc with the Lite-on and then use the provided Nero (because the bundled Nero is the only way for you to use the DiscT@2) and then use the DiscT@2 method to burn the label.
well i just tried the version of nero that came with the yamaha and it would not work on the machine that has a lite on 40 x in it. it just came up with image device.

I thought the ability to write on the disc with the laser was a pretty cool feature...until I read up on it. You can only write on an area of the disc that has no data. IOW you can't fill up a CD, and especially can't overfill it and overburn it and still be able to print on it. I usually fill my CDs to capacity so it'd be a useless feature for me.
