Kids WIN2000 Boot/ repair problem

I have NO experience with WIN2K (almost). A coworker was unable to get her PC to boot: the error indicated a "winnt/system32/config/..." file was corrupted. The coworker had no emergency boot disk or system set-up discs. We do have access to an install CD-ROM. How can we: 1)Get the PC to boot and 2)Repair/replace the corrupted file?

Hmm AFAIK the win2k disk are bootable, Try putting the disk in cd tray and make sure bois is set to boot from cd first and then select option to repair.

That is how I recall it works. I could be wrong.

Edit: gezzz everyone hit this at the same time and posted same time. LOL guess that is not wrong
