2 video cards at once

Im trying to replace a video card on this HP system I own. It already has a video card on the motherboard. I placed the new video card in an empty PCI slot. However when i try to start my computer i plug the monitor and it didn't work. i plugged the monitor in both the onboard video card and then PCI slot video card. nothing happened.. any thoughts?

motherboard might not support the videocard u r trying to use.. also make sure there isn't a jumper on the motherboard used to cut the onboard video off..

Look in your BIOS to see if there's an option to disable the onboard video.

Best of luck!

Yes, I'd look for an option via jumper or option in the bios to turn off the old video card. Though it could be an incompatiblity. What type of vid card are you trying to put in?

try this

you should have to enable the second monitor by going to windows display properties. r-click on your desktop & select properties, then choose the settings tab. you should see two monitors instead of just one if your hardware is correctly installed. click on each monitor to adjust its individual settings.
