Systems Yahoo redirect failure (rd.yahoo)

When I use most links on the Yahoo site and on Yahoo Companion, the link fails (I don't even get a timeout, the screen just goes blank). My guess is it has something to do with the rd.yahoo URL that is thrown in front of the normal URL.

Here's an example:
http://rd.yahoo.com/companion/178005...www.yahoo.com/

This occurs every time. I've not noticed the problem on other machines. I am experiencing the problem on an HP Laptop, running XP, using IE 6. I've tried clearing the cache.

Is this an example of the dispute between Microsoft and Yahoo over redirecting URLs?

Any ideas?

I just ran across the same problem with one of my users. Check your hosts file (under 2k its /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts). If you got one from kazaa-lite or some of the ad blocking software it may include rd.yahoo.com. Whats odd is the one from kazaa-lite includes it 5 times, make sure you get them all. Just put a # in front of each line that has it.
