Well, if the original poster just wants to try stuff out, then Nero will do the trick. IMO by far the best CD burning product out there right now.

Don't settle for anything less than Nero

I've been using Nero Burning ROM ever since I was sitting my tower on a Yamaha CD-RW. The Easy CD Creator is clumsy and does not work as well as Nero, as I found Nero to work much better than Roxio's Easy CD Creator. I tried to burn a CD using Easy CD Creator but ran into excessive Technical Problems. I then burned a CD using Nero Burning ROM and the Nero Software worked much better.

Nero is the best, period. If you want to "try it then buy it" that's great. Or even if you want to be immoral and steal it, you can hardly get away from all the cracked copies of Nero floating around. Even people living under rocks with no internet connection know how to get a cracked copy of Nero.

And Vass, yes CloneCD can burn from files.
