Monitor suggestions please

Hi guys,

I need to decide on a monitor for my college system. I'd be running it off a geforce4 card. I'm not a gamer, but I do lot's of image editing, video editing, cad and animation work, etc.... so it's important that I have a high quality display. I've eliminated a flat screen as they're just too expensive. I like viewsonic, as I've heard only good things so far. My current screen measures 15.5" from corner to corner. I want something bigger - at least 17"; 19" if I can afford it. I'll probably be ordering from newegg, unless I can find a local place that can beat their cost plus shipping. $250 would be ok, $300 might be pushing it. Your comments/suggestions/curses would be most appreciated.

edit ya know.. i would have to say get that 955 now

i have a samsung syncmaster 753df
its:
17"
0.20mm superfine pitch (practically flat)
1280x1024 max res (but drops you to 65hz)

i run it at 1024x768x32 @ 75hz

i had one for about a year, it broke, (i think i broke it when i moved it), but samsung replaced it for free.. as it has a 3 year warranty

samsung tech support is wonderful btw

Samsung Syncmaster 955DF 19 or 21 inch Dyna flat for around $250-300 at Best Buy.

I just got a Samsung 955 DF. It's pretty much the same as the 735DF, just bigger (19in). It was $225 at Newegg w/o S/H.

I was kind of drifting towards Viewsonic. I was thinking about the viewsonic P95F+ ($333 + s/h). I think I can handle the cost. Comments?

I'm looking at getting a p95f+ too. techonweb.com has one for about $320 with s/h. Anyone had dealings with them? They're rated 8+ I believe.
FYI, the black model at newegg is $30 cheaper for some reason. It comes to $338 shipped. It doesn't come up on pricewatch, but you can find it at newegg.com. Let me know if you get one and like it.
I'm probably going to order one when I get back to school later this month. No sense having it shipped now and risk breaking it in the move. =)

I recently got a KDS XF-9e 19" flat screen crt.
I am surprisingly impressed with it. Less than $225.00. That's a good price for a 19".
Bought it locally, so no shipping charges. Even better.

I got the syncmaster 955df. it's a great display. I'm using it for college too. You can't go wrong.
