Outdoors Printer and XP problem

This is why i hate building computers for people.

I bought a machine from IBUYPOWER.com and it came with a MSI KT3 ULTRA motherboard. well the neighbors bought a Lexmark x63 printer. ( didn't even ask for my advice as i would of told them to stay the hell away from lexmarks.)

so i load up winxp, then i install the printer. usb detected install the software and drivers. reboot and it puts an icon in the taskbar. i double click the icon to do a test page, and the damn thing pops up a message saying that the device is busy, please try again later.

uhhh nooo i want to print NOW

i tried both usb slots, even the usb 2.0 slots with the same results. the drivers are supposedly workable with winxp. i go into the printer options, and click on usb port config and it says there is an error.

anyone have any info? i wish i could throw it out the window

lexmark tech support has more than helpful in the sistuation

Check the BIOS to make sure USB is enabled. In my BIOS it's disabled by default.

Do you have any other USB devices to test on it?

I've had a similar problem with a Lexmark apparently "locking up" when trying to use it. Try uninstalling and re-installing the driver, I don't think Windows correctly detected the location of the printer.
