How about the price?

Here's a blast from the past (i have about 6 of them in the basement ).

Whah - I can't seem to get an attachment to work of an old Tandy 5000MC for $8500 (monitor and mouse extra).

Mike

Man, my first comp didn't even have a HDD. I saved data on a cassette player.

OS was Dos 3.7. It was a Commadore

My second Comp Stepped up to two 5 1/4 floppy drives and a 80mb HDD. and yhe OS was DOS 4.4 It was an IBM 808 something c.1986

WHAT SPEED IT HAD!

Well, I started out on a borrowed commodore PET (remember them?) but my first computer was one of the finest the world has ever seen (see attachment; no, that's not me...)

With 16kb (yes, that's a 'k') of memory and a tape player for a HDD, it was all a young programmer could ask for (BASIC of course)

Still got it, and it still works

BTW I think this thread maybe belongs in the community forum (just my gut feeling; don't pay any attention to me )

My first computer was an acorn BBC basic.
It had the really floppy disks that were about 3"square.
But it had pole position, chuckie egg and ski slalom so i was happy.

You mean one of these? (my third computer! )
Chuckie Egg was a true classic. Ever play the games 'Frak', 'Elite' or 'Daredevil Dennis'?

OMG!
Old systems!
My FIRST computer was a 4k Timex/Sinclair 1000. I actually had an extension that gave it 16k memory.
#2 was a Radio Shack CoCo2 with 64k (hand me down from my bro). I saved up and spent $250 for a full height external 5 1/4 FD. Was trying to find OS/2 for it... was getting bored with BASIC.

I have some OLD ads with 486 systems for multiple thousands of dollars.

VLB! LMBCO!

Unbelievable!
