Laptop memory and HD?

Hey guys I just acquired a del laptop today froma guy who was fired from my work. Im going to install some high end proggies on this thing like wavelab, cubase sx, dreamweaver, flash, photoshop, 3d Studio Max. The HD is only 8GB and has only 128 mb of ram. THe computer is a Dell inspiron 5000e.

My question is how hard is it to add a bigger HD and more memory? Can I do it myself? Recommend a laptop HD?

well seeing how this is a laptop we are talking about, there be couple of options. Get an exteral drive and attach it via usb or pccard. I have never used an external drive so its something might want to look into.

Or call up dell and see what thier prices are for an internal drive replacement and upgrade for memory.

These are propierty systems and usally you need to go through the manufacture for replacement parts and such.

The memory is easily accessed thru a door on the bottom of your laptop. Just turn it upside down, remove the 2 screws from the access door in the rear next to the centronics connector. Remove the access door and you're able to access the memory slots.

Click the Crucial link on this page and enter your manufacturer (Dell), product line (inspiron), and model (5000 series). The Crucial site will show you the correct memory modules to purchase.
