Sager Notebooks Reliable?

Does anyone know where these Sager laptops are made?

does anyone know about powernotebooks.com? a perfect 10 ranking seems fishy, there is always someone that is not happy no matter how good you are...

And does anyone know anything about sager notebook quality?

like the parts to it?

their laptops are pretty good but because laptops parts are proprietary (with the exception of the hard disk), you need to ask yourself if the company will be in business for the next 2-3 years minimum to support your purchase.

i dunno if i could say that with the same certainty about sager as i could with dell or ibm.

just a thought...

I would agree with the fishy perfect 10.. but 274 people all agree.. they are the best online company out there. And from the looks of it.. if you DID have a problem with your notebook, powernotebooks.com would deal with it promptly!

It's not 10 across the board.. go into the detailed ratings they are all below 10.. but customer satisfaction is a 10.

Sager and Prostar are actually "sister" companies owned by the same families in Taiwan. All of their notebooks are designed by an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) called Clevo (www.clevo.com.tw). Also, the Alienware Area 51-M is the same notebook as the ProStar 5694! Alienware just colors the case and adds about $500 to it

ProStar has been in business about 11 years while Sager has been in business about 15 years. You can't go wrong with either one. Just make sure the reseller will back it up too!
