Ok how about this??

With the cases that Alienware uses, towards the bottom of the case where the feet are, there is a bottom lip that the side panels sit on. Does any know if that piece can be in any way removed from the frame of the case so it can be painted??

I know that I can removed the side and top panels, along with the front bezel.

Might you consider using a contrasting color for the base, nothing fancy, just a tone overcoat?
This might just enhance the rest of the flame work!

My girlfriend painted this on my case for me, all she used was a stencil of the Ankh, and a silver paint pen.

Ok ya want flames on ya sides?

#1. sand it carefully down to the metal.

#2. use some kind of primer on the case shell.

#3. use a fine grit sandpaper to smooth the primer. DO NOT SAND THROUGH THE PRIMER!

#4. Spray on your base color...for this we are going to say black.
note:you problably want to use a flat color not a gloss.

#5. Now make your self a stencil out of poster board.

#6. Tape your stencil to you case shell, then cover the rest in newspaper so as not to get any paint on the already painted parts.

#7. Spray the flames on.

tada you have a black case with red flames.

That's not a bad method, but the person painting the case for me is a pro painter, as he does car paint jobs, so he knows exactly what to do. masking off with tape and mutilcolored flames, and pinstriped with blue.
