disk boot failure?? argh..now what??

why won't my stupid puter boot with the data lifeguard floppy or the os startup disk?? my floppy drive is detected...so waht's the deal....

"disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

before i disconnected my cd drive it also said something about booting from the cd-rom even though floppy is listed in teh cmos as first bootable device...i dont' get it...what am i doing wrong now? i'm getting frustrated...

are you trying to boot from floppy cd or hard disk
if floppy make sure floppy is set in the bios to first boot
same for cd
make the hard disk second on the boot list.
make sure that your floppy is working correctly and that the cables are the right way round.
if your using cd to boot make sure the cd is bootable.
make sure the floppy disk is not corrupt and is bootable .

How long has it been since you used your floppy drive?
I had a similar problem with mine turned out it was dirty as all get out from all the fan's pulling air into the case.

Its not bootable! Try using Win98 boot disk and Fdisk and format.
