How 'bout contacting Intel customer service directly? After all, this is a hidden defect that's been present ever since it fell off the production line. At least here in Germany, warranty periods don't apply in these cases ...

regards, Peter

well the prob is finally solved. that board was not going to let any ram what so ever go into the 2nd bank. so we (it's my brothers sys) got 1 stick of 256mb pc100 and viola, his sys runs like a champ. no more BSOD's, spontaneous reboots, illegal operation errors, fatal exception errors, lockups/crash in game (half life/cs), lost connection to the internet. and now he has the desired ram improvement. should have got the 512 but the way things were going it was better to be safe. so to anyone that has the intel cc820 moboard and wants to expand, this is probably the easiset solution to ram expansion. thanks again to xeroid, dokeman, and peter m for the posts.
