I did a Google search on
Intel 820 MTH and I see that they were more than Intel boards effected. Seems that others (asus for one) that use the Intel 820 chipset with SDRAM are effected by a noise problem. Looks like the 820 was originaly designed for RDRAM
(like Dokeman said). 
They inserted a MTH (memory translator hub) to enable this chipset to use SDRAM.
Everything I see says a small percentage of these 820 chipset boards with SDRAM have the problem and
the only fix was a recall. Only Intel wasn't calling it a recall. You could not deal directly with them, you had to return the board to where you got it (system builder, online retailer, local retailer, or I even saw a page at HP that said they were replacing the boards in their PC's with this setup)
