Keyboard, Opt. Mouse & Music SW ... ?

Fellow Members:

Tough decision where to post this ... so here it is.

I have been using an old IBM keyboard for a few years ... the kind that has clip-off coiled (phone) cord, removable keys for cleaning, and one of those baby's could probably survive a nuclear attack!

I felt like a change. I had used Logitech Cordless before, but I found a slightly niftier model at BestBuy ... Logitech Cordless Optical.

This board is very cool not only because it's cordless and comes with an optical mouse. It has very convenient shortcut keys (email, websites, scroll wheel, volume for tunes, pause, on-off power for computer as in "shutdown," etcetera).

I've never seen a board with these kinds of features. Maybe I've been living a sheltered life.

Finally, the package comes with a media player I've never heard of but which is the nicest I've seen: MusicMatch Jukebox. Great interface with playlists and CD-R burning capabilities, and it seems incredibly lite. Quality of WinMedia Player with liteness of the current liter one, (WinAmp? the name of which escapes me) but I didn't care for it. Really an incredible package.

So, this may be moved to "reviews" or some such forum. I wanted to share with you the features of this board, mouse and media player.

Has anyone else tried this model?
I'm curious as to other opinions ...

Brangwen

I use a cordless logitech keyboard and cordless optical mouse for my server. It's attached to the TV in the living room, so the lack of cords was critical for me. I've been very happy with both of them (about 11 months now). Never had a problem with them, except when my wife's computer was in the same room at first. She also ran a wireless logitech mouse. When she was using her computer, it would mess up the reception on the server's cordless mouse. Fixed that by moving her system downstairs.

My only real disappointment was when I was looking to purchase these, they didn't come in black (to match the TV, the stereo, the case). 2 months after I bought them, they created a black KB and mouse set - figures!!!

It always seems to work out that way!

Yes, this is my third Logitech Cordless ... One went to my wife who still uses her's, but she bought an optical mouse later as her's did not come with that specie of mouse! I wanted more "heft" so I reverted to the trusty IBM "tank" keyboard and gave my Logitech to my sister. Then I had an urge to get a new "input" device, figurin' this would motivate me to attack a stack of client files that required attention ... Kind of like getting a new pen or mechanical pencil in school! I was right in that I enjoy using this KB. I was wrong about it's acquisition motivating work-related activity!!! But I am trying to learn to write Java ... Another happy ending.

I know exactly what you mean. Doesn't always work for me either!
