I'll try it, but like I said, fresh install and there is nothing currently on my machine but XP

i had a friend that was having the same problem. i did the registry hack and not it works. he didn't even have easy cd creator installed

make sure you back up your registry just in case

thanks... just to add as well before I do it, the dvd rom tends to be "busy" for a while making cd's pretty hot

none of those files were in that directory... so I guess it doesn't start when you reinstall XP...

Well I've tried everything that I know... maybe firmware??? I just can't seem to figure this out, I've got it to work perfectly on another comp, so the drive is good, now its something thats conflicting forsure... I might have to completely uninstall the burner and try it from there. step by step to see what the conflict is... the funny thing is it'll work with certain cd's sometimes, then give errors next time...

Have you updated you ASPI layer. (XP does not install it)
Do a google search or browse on over to www.vcdhelp.com
