um ive been very busy with tests and assignment and all that so ihavent had much time for play but i do have a problem the software i got wit my burner doesnt work on windows 2000 professional now i have a problem where can i find software that will work with my ricoh 20x 10x 40x cd-r/rw
the software for burning works but the packet writting doesnt any suggesttions plz im dying here!!!
an oh yeh i have prassi primo cd plus for burning and primo abcd packet writting. i also have nero but that doesnt really help any 1 any1 at all? very

Did you check the sofware maker`s website for an update?

The drive you have is fairly new and it should be supported by most burning softwares in the market.

I`m sure that its supported by Nero (check here )

While assisting my buddy jerry garcia on one of his builds we ran into a problem of Nero version 4? maybe not working if you have IE 6 installed , I think there was an update on Neros site that fyxxed it. Well now I see it was NTI burner program, but maybe it will help.

thnx for the help gus but no the sotware company sold itsself to another and now its under that name so waht can i do but thnx for the help and yes i do have ie 6 installed ill try to get mny friends nero most proabbly it will wokr becuase my nero is odl hehehe

Nero 4.0 does not start and an error occurs.

The WNASPI32.DLL file included within some Nero 4.0 releases prevents
the correct start of Nero at some systems.
Please download the file WNASPI32.DLL from the following address: WNASPI32.DLL
Please copy this file in the Nero folder.
Now Nero should start without any problems.


Which Nero Releases supports Windows 2000?

The first Nero Release which supports Windows 2000 is Nero 4.0.8.3.
Please download the latest Nero Demo if you use an older
Nero Release.
Nero 5.0 works under Windows 2000.


How can I update Nero 4.0 from previous Nero Releases (older than 4.0.8.3)?

Nero Releases older than 4.0.8.3 cannot be installed under Windows 2000,
because the driver within this Nero Releases cause that Windows 2000
does not boot anymore.

Please download Nero Demo 4.0.9.1 from our website

Please install this Nero Release

Please download the WNASPI32.DLL file and follow the above mentioned instructions.

Now start Nero. Now you can enter the
serialnumber you got for unlocking the demo.


Now you have a full working Nero Release.


Does Nero cause a problem if I update from Windows NT to Windows 2000?

Yes, because the Nero driver for Windows NT does not work under Windows 2000.

Yes. InCD 2.x works under Windows 2000. Previous versions do not work under Windows 2000.

All CD-ROM drives are locked as soon as I burn a CD. Why?

We are aware of this problem and are currently in the process of developing a fix. As yet, no date for the fix has been set.
The CD-ROM drives are unlocked after the CD burn has been completed.
