"Invalid Drive Specification"
I've built maybe eight systems. Sometimes Win98 or Me is a
smooth install, and sometimes I run into trouble with the error
message above.Everything is partitioned and formatted w/ C: /s
to get the system files over, but when the startup disk asks me
to make sure the 98/Me cd is in the CD-ROM drive and hit any key,
I get the "IVS" error.
Why do the startup files inflate the Image.exe to A:\, but the
rest of the files inflate to "D:\", or I've even seen it inflate to
"Z:\" drive?
It also seems that at some point as the startup floppy is loading,
I see a quick flash in DOS that says "Not enough drive letters
available" ??
Any help is much appreciated, as always.
Why do I have trouble installing the OS? My Minasi book among
others do not address this handover from the A:\ startup disk
to the "C:\" (HDD) or "D:\" (CD ROM).
Thanks again for your help.
