Win 2K Compatibility Update

This is just to let anyone know, who didnt already, like me, that 2K has a compatibility option just like XP does, to allow it to fool a program into thinking it is running on 95/98/NT.
It is a dl just over 300k and, while maybe not as encompassing as XP's, may be worth it for anyone who has programs that will not run on 2k.

I didn't download that one as it was optional and wasn't quite sure what it was, I have downloaded like the critical update notice one time and ughhhhhhhhhhhh never again!!!

So not sure about the capabitliy one. Guess I need to read more to see what it is.

Edit: Well no wonder my kids' games wouldn't work on this box. Sigh, that is okay, cause um i can keep using it as an excuse and they can wait till i get the rest of the parts for thier 98se box.

It is a simple install, wont mess things up. It just places the compatibilty tab when you get the properties of a shortcut so that you can run programs that will not run in 2K. They designed it to work for sure with the list below on that page. My 7 year old game is on it . Not sure how it works on other programs, have never had a problem with anything else.

Been using W2K since it was released. Never have downloaded this option, yet my system has compatability mode on all my shortcuts. Guess somewhere in all the updates it has done, it picked this up and installed it.

I am not running any SP, chock it up to laziness. Good to hear they included this in a SP though
