[HELP!] Window 2000 Pro and QuickBooks 2001

Hi guys/gals...

I've loaded Quickbooks 2001 on a Windows 2000 Pro. machine. It works great for anyone who has Administrative rights. Problem is, it won't work for any other user. I get the following message....

User Access Rights Problem

Your User Account for Windows was created with restricted access to system resources. This will prevent QuickBooks from operating properly. Please contact your system administrator and ask him or her to grant you standard user rights.

I having given All Users all rights to the Intuit/Quickbook folder (this has worked in the past with other applications) Still get the error message. Uninstalled/reinstalled with the same result

Any suggestions???

When you installed it, did it give you an option to "allow this program to be run by any user"???

Some applicaitions when installed will ask you that . . .perhaps a removal and reinstall will help.

EDIT: Didnt read the removal part. If all else fails, contact Intuit. :P

EDIT 2: Did you try increasing the rights priveledges for the specific user you are using the program with? ( i.e. changing that user to a Power User, or such )

I did not get any option to allow it to run by any user.

This PC is in a lab with numerous programs loaded on it. I'm just trying to get QuickBooks to work so I can reimage and distribute. There are hundreds of people who use these PC's. They should all fall under the "All Users" category. Is there "special" right I need to give "All Users"?

From what I remember, my Quickbooks 2001 did ask to allow this program to be run by any user. I installed it under my account and I'm in the admin group on the PC. I wonder if switching users to Power Users would work or something?

Adding administrators group privileges allows the application to function, but when just a user in a qb group which has full run of the hkey sw intuit qbregistration key and the rights are correct on the program file path, I too get this error on Windows 2003 Server utilizing Terminal Services and Quickbooks Premium 2004. I was able to get one account to work when I stumbled onto one of the cached records from the evil empire's help site, but I'm not able to locate the registry key which did the trick so I can add additional users. I'm also findind that they want you to spend some ~$3,000 for an enterprise version-which isn't likely to happen. Curious if anyone has any ideas or urls to where the solution to this might exist.....
Thanks
