hartlanders is infamous around these parts
vista memory

Hello, my first post.Ihave a hp slimline s7700e that came with vista home premium installed.I have a sata 160gb.7200rpm hd,the processor is amd64x2 3800+dual core2.0Ghz,memory is 1 GB 2x512MB ddr2-533MHZ dual channelsdram,video card is nvidia geforce 6150 LE.I wish i had ordered 2GB
2X1GB.The load up after bootup desktop takes 3 minutes to load.i ordered 2x1GB ram modules and the computer did not recognize it i put the same memory that came with computer in and told newegg about it.They just refunded the cost.I have no clue why the new RAM was not recognized.Thanks for any help.

It sounds like your motherboard RAM slots don't support 1GB, or at least that particular brand.

That rig will take two 1gb sticks of ram...

Hart, I am wondering if you had seated the ram correctly or if it was bad?

Can you please provide a brand and model number for the memory you purchased?

I have had a similar problem in the past.

It appears that the memory bay has an upper limit on the capapity of RAM it can hold. This is actually a limitation of your mother board.
